Before you land
- Keep your passport and your approval or visa confirmation in your hand luggage
- Save the documents on your phone and carry a printout if you can
- Write down the address where you will stay and a phone number in Egypt
- Tell your driver or our team your flight number
Passport control
After leaving the aircraft you follow the signs to passport control. The officer checks your passport and your entry documents. Answer questions about your stay calmly and truthfully: where you will stay, for how long and why you came.
If you have booked VIP reception, our representative meets you before this step and accompanies you.
Luggage and customs
Collect your bags from the belt shown on the screens. Keep your baggage tags until you have all pieces. If a bag is missing, report it at the airline desk before you leave the hall.
Money and SIM card
There are exchange offices and cash machines in the arrivals area. Change only what you need for the first day. Mobile operators sell SIM cards in the terminal; you need your passport to register one.
Getting to the city
Outside the arrivals hall many drivers offer rides. If you have not arranged transport, agree on the price before you get in. With a booked pick-up, your driver is waiting for you by name and the price is already fixed.
Depending on traffic and the district, the drive into Cairo takes between half an hour and well over an hour.
